This historical property dates back to a land grant prior to 1837 to Stephen F. Austin,
who established the settlement of Austinia. Austin’s nephew, Guy M. Bryan, lived on the
property prior to serving the Texas Legislature.
The site to Grand Cay Harbour is a haven for boaters who want to enjoy year round sport
fishing and recreational water sports. Most of the 500 waterfronts will enjoy panoramic
views of wetlands overlooking Dollar Bay to the south and Moses Lake to the west with a
north east view over Galveston Bay. Plus, Grand Cay Harbour is protected by the Texas
City Levee, making this a Safe Harbor. Even during the massive Hurricane “Ike,” the
entire community remained safe and sound from the threat of flooding waters.
